Description and Table of Contents

Description

These IMechE conference proceedings consider the implications of the "Pressure System and Transportable Gas Containers Regulations" which becomes fully operational on 1 July 1994. Topics covered include in-service management systems developed through the use of computer-based packages, developed to optimize maintenance planning for a high-energy steam distribution system. Implementation of the regulations is included, both by those with experience of applying the regulations to older systems and by representatives from the nuclear industry.

Table of Contents

  • Progress with the implementation of a scheme for the assessment and certification of in-service inspection bodies
  • property losses in the process industries - an engineering problem
  • legal acts and specifications of the office of technical inspection constituting the basis for in-service inspection of pressure systems in Poland
  • some experiences of applying the pressure systems regulations to older systems
  • PSIMS - an in-service inspection management system
  • managing the pressure systems regulations - the user inspectorates view, and the EEMUA guide
  • interpretation of the pressure systems and transportable gas containers regulations for compressed air systems
  • the assessment of pressure vessels for low temperature
  • the application of computer generated databases in the control of in-service inspections within the nuclear power industry
  • computer based techniques for condition assessment of high temperature, high pressure systems
