Description and Table of Contents
Description
In the construction of open computer networks, security is a key consideration. The goal of this book is to promote an integrated approach to security. It describes the design and implementation of security systems within an open distributed framework, with particular emphasis on the features, protocols, services and mechanisms which characterize a global integrated security system. Introducing the basic concepts of distributed systems and network security, the authors stress the practical benefits of a comprehensive integrated security system. The book also contains an overview and analysis of the ISO/OSI standard for security architecture.
