Description

This volume studies the changes that have affected land morphology and use in urban areas. Part of the book is devoted to illustrating the phenomena. It provides an insight into the history of ten cities by analyzing the mechanisms that have led to the main morphological changes of the past century. The empirical study is examined through methodological reflections that trace back the implentation of the main innovations such as technological advances. The book is divided into two main sections: the first studies elements of innovation that have had an impact on the morphological structure of a selected number of case studies; and the second focuses on problems that have emerged as being significantly important in the case studies.
