内容説明

Intended for upper-level courses in principles of learning, animal learning and learning and memory, this text shows how learning principles revealed in animal research can be applied to human behaviour. Rather than leaving students with the impression that learning is an isolated phenomenon involving only classical conditioning, reinforcement and formation of associations, the author also reveals its relationship to cognitive processes, such as memory and thinking. The author's coverage of the Rescoria-Wagner model should enable students to understand the importance of neural network models in learning research and perceive the links between associative learning and higher cognitive processes. This edtion includes a new chapter on biological factors in learning.
