内容説明
This textbook surveys theory and presents teaching ideas. It clarifies the topical arguments about English teaching, and is in line with the National Curriculum and gives wide coverage of issues. English as a subject is going through a phase of readjustment, and many students and teachers are unsure of where they stand on quite fundamental issues. How far should teachers pass on judgements about literature to their pupils? What constitutes literature? How should English be taught? This book clarifies the arguments and suggests a coherent approach to English teaching, which accommodates enduring perpectives whilst giving a framework for teaching the subject that takes account of the National Curriculum. It is aimed at B.Ed and PGCE student teachers of English (principally secondary); secondary English teachers, in-service courses. Also primary English teachers and student teachers of English in non-English speaking countries.
