内容説明

Reliability engineering is a rapidly developing field and is becoming increasingly important in various industries and technologies. Reliability engineering provides those theoretical and practical tools which can specify, design, predict, test and demonstrate the probability and capability of parts, components, products, systems and installations to perform their required functions in specified environments for the desired period without failure. Reliability engineering is vital to the design, manufacture and operation of products, systems and plants with respect to maintaining a high safety standard which is compatible with nature and the environment. The reliability of technical systems, the operating conditions, and consequently the availability and safety aspects of systems interact in various ways. A wide spectrum of aspects around the key issues of safety and reliability are reviewed in this volume. It brings together the experience of scientists, engineers, managers, and regulators from different disciplines, industries, and user organizations on the tools and procedures. The 94 papers provide a reference source on the implications of new technologies in the planning and shaping of safety and reliability assessment.
