内容説明

Two confrontations have historically engaged Western interests in the Middle East: the Arab-Israeli conflict and the battle for control of the Persian Gulf. This book examines the stability of, and challenges to, the regimes of the region, focusing on the main actors in these two conflicts. The contributors discuss the distribution of power within each region and highlight the social, economic and ideological trends bringing change in the region. Probable scenarios for regime succession are also explored.
