The purpose of this book is to help readers understand the intellectual foundations, strategies and tactics of East Asians in Japan and the so-called four Mini-Dragons (Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, and Taiwan). In addition, it sets out to help East Asians, especially overseas Asians, understand their own philosophical and cultural tradition. It is the first book published which discusses various aspects, both positive and negative, of the philosophical and cultural heritage of these countries as a whole by tracing their historical development and background.
