This book is based on the author's own research and experience in the field. It provides practical advice for both bereaved and carers called upon to cope unexpectedly with death on a personal or a major scale. It offers practical advice which may be easily understood by all carers as well as by the bereaved or injured and it studies the needs of the bereaved, the role of the carer and difficulties (such as stress) which face the carer. The author is internationally well-known in this field. He has made several media appearances in the UK following his involvement in the aftermath of national disasters such as the Bradford football stadium fire and the Lockerbie air crash.
