A review of the causes and effects of a wide range of oral diseases, this second edition has been revised and updated to reflect advances in diagnosis and prevention. Although intended mainly as an undergraduate dental text, the book should also be useful for postgraduate dental students and medical students. The references at the end of each chapter either provide the reader with more detailed accounts of specific topics, or are major review articles of specialized texts which themselves contain a more extensive bibliography.
