In this work, 38 lawyers - representatives of all EC Member States - report and comment on the legal problems and experiences which they encounter when dealing with the documents concerning the Free Movement of Persons in Europe. The most relevant ones discussed are: the Benelux Treaty, the Schengen Agreement and Convention, the Geneva Convention on the Status of Refugees, the Dublin Asylum Convention, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, the relevant articles of the EEC Treaty and the Maastricht Treaty, as well as the European Economic Area (EEA) Treaty. The authors are experts in the field of the free movement of persons. They are representatives of: the national judiciary, including the Bar; the national ministries of foreign affairs, justice, the interior, and others; the parliaments (national and European); the institutions of the EC (Commission, Council, Court of Justice); and the institutions of the Council of Europe (Council, European Court of Human Rights and the European Commission)
