内容説明
The aim of this study was to throw new light on a wide variety of topics relevant to the Commission's work on which there was insufficient information and to provide a more solid basis for views and opinions as to how the criminal justice system operates. The objective was to take a snapshot of as many aspects of the system as possible in the time available. Nine separate questionnaires were devised to be completed by the main actors in the cases sampled: the judge, prosecution and defence barristers, the defence solicitor, the crown prosecution service, the police, the court clerk, the defendant and the 12 members of the jury. The report of the study does not include any evaluation of the data, nor recommendations, but simply reports the results.
