Description and Table of Contents
Description
This work deals with the general problem of atmospheric and internal instabilities of super- and hypergiants in relation to their evolutionary phase. New topics discussed are stellar variability in relation to the observed pulsations and shock waves. Other important features are the discussion of dust formation, maser emission and the relation of these phenomena to stellar winds. The volume, which contains invited reviews and contributed papers, will appeal to astrophysicists, research workers and graduate students.
