内容説明
This is a textbook on the epidemiology and prevention of ischaemic heart disease, written by a team of international contributors. It covers major areas of new work and deals with aetiology, appropriate methodology, and the application of research data to the development of policy, showing how epidemiologists can use their knowledge to inform and analyze public health policies. This book charts the changes that have occurred in coronary heart disease mortality, following the its emergence in countries undergoing economic development and other changes. The contributors emphasize the important established risk factors for heart disease, and the importance of public health as an end-point of epidemiological research is also stressed. This text is aimed at those who require an up-to-date view of coronary heart disease epidemiology and those who appreciate that coronary heart disease serves as an instructive example of the application of research to the formation and evaluation of public health policy.
It is intended as a reference work for medical students and a text for more advanced students and practitioners of epidemiology and public health and those concerned with the prevention of cardiovascular disease.
