内容説明
Although sphingolipids constitute one of the most chemically and functionally diverse biomolecules, most of their biological functions and their regulations are not known. Recent findings have begun to explain various cell diseases, and why sphingolipids undergo changes in cell growth, differentiation and disease. "Advances in Lipid Research", Volumes 25 and 26 are thematically organized to emphasize the little-known biological functions of sphingolipids and their regulations. The importance of these compounds is revealed by their structural sophistication, the complex changes that they undergo with development and their widespread utilization by eukaryotic organisms.
