The text has been revised throughout, and a new chapter has been included dealing with metal/ceramic joining and microwelding. is also increased coverage of the development of steelmaking techniques that affect weldability. "Metallurgy of Welding" covers the joining of metals, both to other metals and to non-metals including ceramics and glasses. The joining processes covered include soldering, brazing, solid-phase welding and fusion welding. The fusion welding of steel is covered in depth, and non-ferrous metals, glasses and ceramics are also considered. A chapter is also devoted to the topic of the service behaviour of weldments.
