Lipid peroxides and their derived substances are a reflection of lipid peroxidation in the body. A rise in the lipid peroxide level in the body is an important indicator of the occurrence of pathological processes. This book considers cell injury, lipid peroxide level, active oxygen-mediated lipid peroxidation, and scavenging by antioxidants of radical species - significant issues on this topic. The generation, reaction, and detection of active oxygen's and lipid peroxide are discussed, and the pathological implications of various diseases caused by active oxygen's and lipid peroxides are examined.
