Description and Table of Contents
Description
This handbook is the first in a series designed to clarify the principles of the Children Act, to identify areas of change and to discuss the implications for policies, procedures and practice. The courts have considerable scope for discretion in their decisions about children. It is therefore important that social workers and other practitioners in the field understand the broad objectives of the legislation. This volume considers the major new orders available under Parts 1, II, IV and V of the Act as well as secure accommodation orders and the criminal implications of the Children act. It should be read in conjunction with the other volumes of guidance in the series.
Table of Contents
- Private law aspects of the Children Act
- care and supervision orders
- protection of children
- secure accommodation orders
- juvenile offending and the Children Act.
