Description
This survey of recent research on child placement contains important messages for social workers and their managers. The findings have many implications for practice and are likely to influence both the future direction of professional training in child care and the way in which social services departments implement the Children Act 1989. The survey takes as its focus three main themes from the new Act: the promotion of the child's welfare, partnership and planning. Relevant findings from more than 50 studies, large and small, are brought together and set in context.
