What happens when a couple divorce? What are the financial consequences? This survey, carried out in 1984 by OPCS on behalf of the Lord Chancellor's Department, examines these questions and covers changes in the position of divorcing couples and their children with respect to housing, employment status, sources and amounts of income, and indebtedness before and after the divorce.
