Description
Central to the study of small business is an understanding of the processes by which different businesses change, grow and in some cases decline. "Small Business Dynamics" provides an economic and inter-regional analysis of the birth, death and changes within smaller firms over time, with an emphasis on the extent of "turbulence" which exists and on the causes of variation in business dynamics. The contributors, who represent leading authorities from Europe and the USA, bring into question different national and industrial perspectives. Overall the chapters examine small business dynamics from two main perspectives: first, a national perspective which looks at the impact of broad macro-economic trends; secondly, a regional perspective which highlights the effect of variations across different sectors within the broad economic picture.
