This text is divided into a methodologic part and a clinical part. The first part discusses the imaging technique, use of contrast medium and specific types of images. The second part is organized according to anatomy (sinuses and nasopharynx, orofacial region, hypopharynx and larynx). For each of these regions, the cross-sectional anatomy, clinical examination, the appearance of tumours and metastases, and differential diagnoses are discussed in detail and with numerous illustrations. The comparative values of CT and MRI are also discussed for each area. The book aims to aid the radiologist in establishing and/or optimizing CT and MR imaging methods at his/her hospital, as well as providing a guide for differential diagnosis of less well-known diseases. It also demonstrates the spectrum of modern imaging procedures to the ENT specialist and dentist. A two-page leaflet comes with the main text.
