The present time is placing enormous stress on all people who work with children, particularly those with special needs of handicap or disturbance or those who have suffered major trauma as infants or adolescence through physical and sexual abuse. Play as a form of intervention is accepted by most specialists but there is little training or literature as a resource for a variety of professional people such as psychotherapists, playtherapists, social workers, teachers and others who are called upon to work with children.
