内容説明
This book contains an insightful reading of Lawrence's two best novels, The Rainbow and Women in Love, in the context of an analysis of Lawrence's artistic method and powerful religious promptings. This combination of religious impulse and artistic method is called Passionate Form by the author. Since the artistry is based upon process, rather than geometry, the form of the novels will be seen to be more like a verb than a noun, a form which is, as Lawrence himself has declared, all moves. In addition, the reader will be treated to a kind of literary hybrid in which criticism, philosophy, and theology are all conjoined in a rich engagement of central texts in the modern period.
