Cellular neural networks (CNNs) are currently attracting a great deal of interest as a major new research area. The wide-ranging applications of CNNs and the ease of VLSI implementation make this an important new field in circuit theory. This text covers all of the recent developments in and applications of cellular neural networks. Four topics are covered in detail - theory, VLSI realization, design tools and applications. A CNN software simulator accompanies the book. This program is designed for standard PCs under MS-DOS and allows users to visualize and test their own ideas.
