内容説明
This book deals with all aspects of modern echo--sounding and sonar as used by those concerned with the exploitation and management of fisheries. From the basic physics, through the operation of the systems, the practical aspects are well illustrated with many diagrams and photographs, including a large section on paper recordings and colour sounder displays of fish traces. The applications described range from a small portable echo--sounder for freshwater fishing in shallow waters to the Deep Tow echo--sounder used at 2500m depth. it includes some remarkable accoustic images of underwater scenes and the latest methods for tracking fish.
