This volume aims to provide a concise but complete guide to the use of laparoscopic techniques in urologic surgery. The first section provides essential information on patient selection and perioperative management, on laparoscopic instrumentation and video systems, and on basic techniques including microlaparoscopy and use of lasers and electrosurgery. The book then describes a variety of laparoscopic urologic procedures, including advanced procedures such as bladder neck suspension, retroperitoneal laparoscopic surgery, herniorrhaphy, and bowel resection and urinary diversion. A separate chapter covers paediatric laparoscopy. Other chapters offer valuable advice on the complications of surgery and important medicolegal issues. More than 200 illustrations - many in full colour throughout the book - provide a visual expansion of the clearly written text. The book also includes a listing of equipment manufacturers.
