内容説明

The format of this pocket guide provides physicians and health care practitioners quick and easy access to practical and vital information regarding medication usage in the elderly. Intended for frequent use as a clinical reference, the book is divided into three major sections. The first section is a guide to the choice of drugs and treatments for major disease states in the elderly. The second section is comprised of a series of charts comparing drug effects, spectrum of activity, and adverse effects. The third section contains information monographs for individual drugs, listed alphabetically. Drug categories and disease states covered concentrate on aspects of drug therapy particularly relevant to the elderly. This includes: the pharmacodynamic changes observed with individual drugs in the elderly; appropriate dosing in the elderly; adverse drug reactions common in the elderly; general recommendations; and drug cost.
