Description
This work explores William James' approach to the affirmation of God, as developed in The Will To Believe and, especially. The Varieties of Religious Experience. James affirmed the reality of God on the basis of his study of religious experience. After placing James' religious life and thought in its historical context, this book establishes James' centre of vision and his theory of truth. It then summarizes his description of religious experience and examines his reconciling hypothesis of the reality of God.
