Each year in January a conference is held in Waidring, Austria, under the auspices of University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. This conference places particular emphasis on the interest and needs of the practising lawyer, and as a result a successful formula has been developed over the years to achieve this. Recently, there have been dramatic legal changes in many countries in the area of insolvency and corporate rescue. Therefore, it seemed a particularly opportune time to look at the global situation and to make comparisons between the laws in the different countries. This book includes reports on the following countries: Germany, England, the US, Sweden, Switzerland, Australia, Austria, Canada, Finland, Greece, Norway, France, Belgium, Wales, Israel, Luxembourg and Spain.
