Description and Table of Contents
Description
This text contains invited papers on fundamental aspects of noise and fluctuations in physical systems and in nature. The areas examined include: noise in materials; electronic devices and high tech implications; SQUIDS, lasers, and masers; in precision measurements; in biology, eg, membrane noise, neuronal noise, and in biological rhythms; fluctuation phenomena in sociology and economics; chaos and fractals; and models and theories. Readership will be primarily researchers in acoustic systems, particularly the Engineering, Noise, and Physical Acoustics divisions of the ASA, and condensed matter scientists and engineers. This text will also be of use to biophysics and bioengineering scientists.
