Reproductive genetic testing capabilities have expanded dramatically over the last two decades with only limited attention focused on the impact of these new technologies on women. In an effort to remedy this situation, experts from various backgrounds and disciplines gathered to discuss the sometimes controversial psychosocial, ethnocultural, legal, ethical and public policy issues involved. Also discussed were international perspectives on these new methods of reproductive genetic testing and important issues regarding education and training. This proceedings publication should be read by all concerned professionals as it represents the first thorough attempt to categorize the significant impact of genetic research.
