内容説明

This text reorients the direction and scope of public law in New Zealand as it is traditionally taught. It is modelled on the realities of how New Zealand's public law system currently functions, rather than supplying a formalistic understanding of how its Constitution should operate. Thus, it encompasses all players in the constitutional system - the media, Parliament and political parties as well as Cabinet (where power really resides). The book gives the student practical tools as well as an understanding of the system. The student will learn to brief a case thoroughly and undertake rigorous statutory interpretation while challenging the policy and political considerations which underlie cases and statutes, particularly in areas concerning Maoris and the Bill of Rights.
