A book on new developments in British painting in the 1980s which will also act as a critical survey of the work of 20 British painters under the age of 45 whose work will be on tour in the United States in 1989. These artists and their work will be discussed in the book, which will also include reference illustrations of examples of work by other new British painters. There are contributions from Carolyn Cohen, the exhibition curator, and Judith Higgins, an American art journalist.
