This text provides contributions on arthroplasty of the shoulder - basic principles, including biomechanics, clinical and radiographic evaluation, anaesthesia, surgical anatomy and aetiology make up a third of the book. A comprehensive presentation of surgical techniques for osteoarthritis, proximal humerus fractures, dislocation, massive rotator cuff defects and many others, along with their post-operative rehabilitations follows. Indications are discussed, and various alternatives to arthroplasty are proposed for the patient for whom it may not be indicated.
