内容説明
"Attending to Work" aims to break new ground in two important ways. First, it focuses on a neglected issue - the management of attendance. Secondly, the book draws on detailed interviews with over 300 workers. Based on four case studies, including the public and private sectors and white collar as well as blue collar workers, Edwards and Whitston set out to show how the regulation of work has been changing in a variety of settings. Issues covered include: flexibility within the workplace; how managerial policies have altered (or failed to alter) worker's attitudes; and the control of attendance.
