Description and Table of Contents

Description

The Guiana Shield is an area of special importance, especially to those concerned with Precambrian geology, as it provides a perspective on a part of earth history not well represented elsewhere. It is also concerns economic geologists as its mineral resource potential is barely recognized. This overview will improve the knowledge of geologists already working in the area, draw attention to the need for mineral exploration research, and encourage the inclusion of the Shield in future Precambrian studies.
