内容説明
This volume surveys current knowledge and ideas about sexuality, social theory and research. There has been much debate about controversial issues of sexual conduct from contraception to AIDS prevention but, until now, few books have offered systematic thinking across the whole field of sexuality. This book brings together state-of-the-art social theory, public policy issues, and historical and survey research. It covers issues ranging from AIDS and gay identity to perceptions of women's sexuality and relations between the state and our sexual behaviour. For anyone interested in exploring the new methodologies and approaches to sexuality - currently a subject of vital interest - this book provides more than just a forum for the latest research; it provokes further investigation.
