内容説明

Following on from theoretical discussions, five case studies from Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America examine a range of technologies and their effects on human rights. For example, the damage suffered by a traditional society as a result of firearms technology from the West is the subject of the Ethiopian case study and in the Netherlands the impact of highly advanced medical technology on human rights is discussed. This is a wide-ranging study and gives an indication of the possible side effects of science and technology on society.

目次

Case studies from - Venezuela, Thailand, Poland, Ethiopia, Western Europe.
