Description
This volume surveys medical advances in the relatively new discipline of cardionephrology. Specialists in the fields of cardiology, nephrology and hypertension provide an overview of the illnesses affecting both the heart and the kidney, and identify problems of common concern. Insights gained from the latest research into cardiorenal interaction are presented, and steps towards improving the diagnosis and management of renal disorders with cardiac involvement, and cardiac disorders involving the kidney, are discussed. By helping to elucidate the chain of events by which renal dysfunction disrupts the function of the heart, and vice versa, the book contributes to ongoing efforts to develop better diagnostic and therapeutic approaches.
