内容説明
Provides a comprehensive review of eosinophil research for clinicians and scientists conducting studies with eosinophils. The cellular biology of eosinophils is covered including ultrastructure, granule proteins, surface receptors, intracellular signal transduction, activation and eosinophilopoiesis, and functions of eosinophils such as tissue damage and mediator production. The book discusses the rules of eosinophils as proinflammatory cell in allergies, parasite infections, and respiratory diseases. It also examines their interactions with T cells and cytokines, as well as the pharmacological modulation of eosinophils in these conditions. Clinical features of eosinophils in bronchial asthma, allergic rhinitis, skin diseases, parasite infections, hypereosinophilic syndrome, and eosinophilic myalgia syndrome are described as well.
