内容説明
This book explores the ways in which science and technology can take place in the early and middle years at school. At the heart of the book are a number of case studies of actual practice drawn from primary schools in action. These studies contribute to a theoretical approach grounded in childrens' learning, and are used in exploring the real problems of planning, management, organization, teaching and learning as classroom practitioners try to implement new curriculum directives. The chapters examine the nature of learning experiences, the practice of teaching, teaching for specific skills, the role of the specialist coordinator, assessment and record keeping, scientific and technological problem solving and working for equal opportunities. The authors draw on their own wide experience in science education and upon their work with teachers in primary classrooms.
