内容説明
Designed for undergraduate courses in European politics, European studies and European integration studies, this introduction to the history, organization and policies of European Communities has been revised and updated. The text aims to provide an overview of the often complex institutional structure of the European Community. Its analysis of some of the key policy areas is set against the background of changing perspectives on European union and a full discussion of the question of national sovereignty versus Community-wide institutions is included. New sections on external relations, the European Court of Justice, subsidiarity and "co-operation" procedures and economic and monetary union have been added, and the text also covers the latest developments in the Inter-Governmental Conferences, including Maastricht and the Danish, Irish and French referenda.
