Intended as an outline and guide for the general physician, this book aims to help doctors managing patients understand haematological processes, arrive at a diagnosis and deepen their knowledge of the principles of treatment. The first half of the book uses a practical approach, with emphasis on the use of salient features of the blood film report as a guide to diagnosis. The second half looks at discrete topics of primary haematological implications and at areas of growing interest. Laboratory aspects, treatment schedules and the presentation of a haematological atlas are outside the scope of the text. The book should also be of interest to paediatric physicians, obstetricians and geriatricians.
