Important aspects in the reformulation of the theory and practice of development communication are set out in this volume. It examines such issues as inequality, dependency, development indicators, participatory approaches, message effectiveness, and the interface and use of traditional media and modern communication technologies. The contributors conclude that development communication has to play a wider role in bringing about greater participation from people affected by development decisions.
