Description and Table of Contents

Description

This proceedings, ""Management of Irrigation and Drainage Systems: Integrated Perspectives"", consists of 156 papers presented at the 1993 ASCE National Conference on Irrigation and Drainage Engineering held in Park City, Utah, July 21-23, 1993. The conference featured thirty-nine technical oral sessions, a computer poster session and a general poster session. The proceedings is comprised of four basic themes. They are: Urban-agricultural and water transfers; water quality issues and solutions; wetlands, irrigation and water resources interactions; and technical topics. Some of the topics included in these papers are: Watershed hydrology; ground water management and protection; characterization of droughts; effect of agricultural drainage on water quality; GIS in design, operation and maintenance of irrigation systems; computer software development for on-farm use; engineering procedures used to quantify stream flow depletions; and developments in surface irrigation. These proceedings should provide engineers with an insight into some of the most recent developments in irrigation, drainage, hydrology, wetlands engineering, hydraulics, and water requirements.
