Description

Soil fertility, ecological potential, human living conditions and aquatic systems in the Amazon region were among the issues discussed during an intensive 2 day meeting of a group of scientists in Bonn. This collection of papers presented there takes stock of the of past and current activities designed to preserve the Brazilian Amazon forest. Using a holistic, interdisciplinary approach, physical, natural, socio-economic and political perspectives are considered and research ideas for future investigation are identified.
