Description and Table of Contents

Description

The earliest - c.1446-7 -complete translation of an authentic dialogue of Plato into a Western vernacular language. This edition makes available for scholars Pero Diaz's 1446-7 translation of Phaedo -the first of Plato's `Dialogues' to be translated into a modern Western language. It is thus important not only in the history of Spanish literature, but also for the light it casts on contemporary Spanish culture.
