Description

When viewing the chest X-ray, the radiologist is confronted with several diagnostic challenges. Many diseases are clearly seen and easily diagnosed, but others are "masked" and overlooked unless careful attention is paid to radiographic subtleties. This work includes over 240 illustrations which focus on these difficult-to-recognize disorders. A summary of pathologies involving particular anatomic regions aims to enable the reader to compare and contrast radiologic changes brought about by different disease processes. CT and MRI studies are included, but the emphasis is on interpreting conventional radiographs and recognizing abnormalities of the thoracic skeleton. A self-testing section is included making this text a study tool for board examinations.
