内容説明

This volume reviews the latest progress in foetal surveillance. The book has 76 chapters divided over 11 sections. Nearly all aspects of foetal surveillance are presented by clinicians and scientists with a particular expertise in the complex field of foetal monitoring. Techniques, methodological issues, (patho-)physiologic backgrounds, risk factors and risk groups, interpretation of results, and medico-legal consequences of the various methods to monitor the foetus are critically reviewed. The book is indispensable for all those directly or indirectly involved with monitoring of the foetal condition and assessment of neonatal outcome. It serves as a basis for daily obstetric practice and also for future developments in this area. An integrated, comprehensive approach to obstetrical problems, threatening the condition of the foetus is proposed. The book is intended for general obstetricians, maternal-foetal specialists, midwives, students, scientists, technicians, hospital managers and directors, lawyers and other persons with a particular interest in monitoring of the foetal condition.
